![]() ![]() The street corn had a wonderful kick of a spice to it but balanced by the corn's natural sweet nature. The zucchini was cooked to perfection, not soggy or smelly as zucchini can often get when steamed or overcooked. The flavor of the fish was so amazing, that no accompaniment was needed and, after completely devouring the three pieces of Swai, I started on the zucchini and corn! Both were equally as flavorful as the fish and were completely satisfying. I picked up the Swai and took a bite! Instantaneously, my taste buds were tickled with an abundance of flavor so much flavor that I forgot all about my missing tartar sauce. The aroma was pleasant, not too fishy, but sensationally satisfying. Everything smelled amazing! I have to admit, I was a little bummed out at first that with my order, there was no tartar sauce, but, when I lifted the lid to my Crispy Battered Swai, an aroma explosion filled my nose. Within 40 minutes, my order arrived! I began to unpack the contents of the bag. I ordered the Crispy Battered Swai, Rosemary Zucchini, Grilled Asparagus, Street Corn, Glazed Brussel Sprouts and Side Salad with a side of tartar sauce. It's a rare occasion that I actually crave fish but last Sunday happened to be one of those fish craving kind of days! I searched on Postmates and found this gem of a restaurant. Overall, it’s a delicious restaurant that truly merits a Michelin distinction. They had several tables good for large parties (8 people or so). They have cart service so you can easily eat a variety to your heart’s content. The custard buns come with a lot of custard filling and are just the right amount of sweetness The spareribs were soft and juicy my mom really liked them Similar to the above, the shrimp and scallop dumpling was cold but had a good amount of stuffing The fried shrimp dumpling was a bit cold but still good it came with a sweet pink sauce The BBQ pork bun was large and pillowy, but had a small portion of meat The green tea mochi was super chewy and I loved the filling The har gao had juicy shrimp but the skin was a tad thick The siu mai was super moist and piping hot - we ordered four. We got ~11 dishes for four people and still a couple of dishes leftover. They have tea service ($1/person).įood-wise, everything was on point. Bathrooms are available in the back right and side of the restaurant. Free parking is available in the back of the building and in the alley. There was a short wait (write your name and party size on the paper by the hostess stand) for indoor dining (no outdoor dining available). Stopped by on the way down from Lake Tahoe back to LA on a Sunday, and left with happy tummies. Luis said, “I can and I will”.Michelin bib gourmand all-day dim sum eatery. If I put together a group of twenty people, could he put together some off-menu items. I messaged Luis Vargas, the owner of Dragon Chino and, perhaps, the hardest working restauranteur in town. They do a few similar dishes including excellent pork or shrimp, steamed or fried dumplings but no haw gaw, no shu mai, none of those other dishes that I can’t spell. And it’s quite a good Chinese restaurant. ![]() Now we do have a Chinese restaurant in San Miguel. We’d only been back in San Miguel de Allende for three weeks but I was already suffering from separation anxiety. Those wonderful little Chinese treats, steamed or fried, three or four to the serving, that date back to the 10th Century tea houses on the Silk Road in the province of Canton. It’s a once a week, absolutely-every-week-that-we’re-there, tradition in Toronto. ![]()
